Sunday Mutton Curry

  1. Marinate mutton in garlic and ginger paste, salt and turmeric powder for 45 minutes.
  2. Heat oil; add chopped garlic, chopped onions and sauté till golden brown.
  3. Add the marinated mutton and continue cooking for 15 minutes till the mutton is well seared and brown.
  4. Add the coriander seed, cumin and black peppercorn powder.
  5. Add the tomato paste and continue cooking till oil separates
  6. Add about 500ml of hot water and potatoes. Cover and cook till mutton is tender and potatoes cooked.
  7. Finish off with ginger juliennes; slit green chilies and fresh coriander.
  8. Serve with rice.

  • 1kg mutton
  • 1kg chopped onions
  • 1kg blended tomatoes
  • 100gms chopped garlic
  • 50gms garlic-ginger paste (60:40 ratio)
  • 1 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil
  • 3 potatoes, cut into cubes
  • 1 tbsp powdered coriander seeds, cumin & black peppercorns (2:1:2 ratio)
  • Slit green chillies
  • Ginger juliennes
  • Chopped fresh coriander
